I'm looking learn a couple of languages. I was born in the USA and have been Americanized by my parents who chose not to teach me tagalog. It's a shame. I can understand a couple of phrases but I definetly cannot speak it fluently or hold on a conversation. alot of my friends speak the language as do my family members, and I would like to pass this language on to my children. I'm hoping for a tutor who can be patient with me but I will put my heart into learning this language. I'm even taking Spanish now to also help with learning Tagalog. I am in fact a busy person but I can give up around 6 hours a week to learn (I have honors classes and as a sophmore am taking my first AP class). Thank you [=

I am a beginner at the Turkish language. I have lived in Istanbul for 6 months and have some knowledge of grammar.
I am learning Turkish because Turkey holds a special place in my heart, and the ability to communicate better with the people there would strengthen m love for the country.
I am able to spend 4-8 hours per week for lessons, depending on days of availability and location.
I am looking for a teacher that knows how to make learning a new language interesting and more hands-on then just book work.

I am Turkish American. I am learning Turkish, so that I will be more prepared to live and work in Izmir, Turkey in the future. I grew up with Turkish spoken in my household, so I am familiar with the language; however, I was only permitted to speak English. My family is planning to help me, but I am looking for some formal training as well. Conversationa l skills are most important to me; however, I want to learn to write as well.
