I am leaving on a mission for the LDS church and will be going to Taiwan Taichung and would love to start learning the language. I am a beginner starting from scratch and would love to start with the basics. I work full time from 7:30 to 6/ six days a week but after 6 i have available to dedicate. Hello,
My native language is English and my wife is Chinese. She speaks fluently in Cantonese, Taishanese and Manderin, as well as English. We are looking to hire a teacher for the summer of 2006 to continue teachng our children Cantonese. We live in Batavia, NY 14020.
We have four children. The youngest is 3 and understands some simple words in Cantonese. The 6 year son and 7 year daughter have gone to Chinese schoold during the summers in NYC for 2 years. They have basic skills and we would like to expand their language capability. Our oldest daughter is 13 and she is proficient in Cantonese and is beginning to learn Manderin.
We are looking for a teacher for the summer and would consider on sight ( at our home lessons) dailey or a miinimum of 3 days a week. We would consider a student from the University or a qualified teacher. We also could consider a live-in for the summer period, if transportatio n was an issue. We are looking for an energetic, dededicated and personable educator for our children. Prior experience is a plus, but not mandatory.
We would like the children to have well rounded lessons not only in spoken Cantonese, but also some basic writing skills.
We look forward to hearing from you and are ready to start lessons immediately.

I am a college student, home for the summer, who has taken Spanish classes for seven years. I have completed all the levels of Spanish grammar, but in preparation for studying abroad in the Spring, I need to gain some confidence in my speaking abilities.
I'm looking for a native speaking teacher who can provide a supportive environment for someone who needs to become more comfortable speaking Spanish.
I am open also to meeting in small groups of students to practice my conversation skills.

I am looking for a native speaker that can help me learn Mandarin and perhaps Cantonese. I am adopting a child from China and would like to be able to speak to her to ease her transition. Additionally, since I'll be spending more than 2 weeks in China I'd like to be able to understand some of what is going on around me. I am moving to Panama City in about 6 weeks, so before that time I will be unavailable, however, after that I'll be there for four years. I'd like to be able to be close to fluent in one of those dialects by the end of that time. If this works out I'd be interested in long term lessons to help me achieve that goal.
