I would like to move to Brazil part time and teach English. I am a beginner although I speak very conversationa l Brazilian Portuguese with friends. I'm particularly uncomfortable with my pronounciatio n, grammer, and comprehension . I have 9 months to learn and I'm attempting to immerse myself with reading Brazilian newspapers, music, films, televison programs, radio, books, and flashcards. I have been studying Spanish off and on for the past couple of years. I have a fairly good vocabulary, but need the opportunity to speak and become verbally proficient. I would consider my level to be advanced beginner as I am comfortable in the present tense only.
My desire to learn Spanish comes from frequent travel to Mexico. I love the country and the people.
Grammar is not my strong point and I become bored with traditional grammar-based instruction. My interest lies in a more conversationa l approach to learning.
I work full time, so my weekday availability is somewhat limited. I could meet one evening per week and Saturday or Sunday.
I have a friend who may be interested as well.
