Hello,
My name is Jonathan Simpson. I have been studying Russian for just over 4 years. I speak on a low advanced level, although I need a lot of brushing up on my conversationa l skills since I have not spoken much in 3 months. I completed my last semester of college in Russia through a study abroad program. While there I passed the level one portion of the Russian Language State exam.
I am planning on going to Russia in early September to get certified to teach English and try to find work in the former USSR.
I would like to focus on improving my conversationl skills and improving my writing skills. I would also like to work on building my vocabulary through simulating every day situations (for instance, what kind of vocabulary would I need when I am checking my bags at the airport?)
I would like to meet two to three hours per week starting as early as next week.

Level of Spanish I would say intermediate~ Studied Spanish in college and abroad some years back. Use basic Spanish daily and need to expand my vocab., verb conjugations, etc. 1-2 hours weekly in instruction. Heavy on conversation and listening.

I'm a beginner, but a fairly confident beginner. I lived in Beijing for all of last year, and studied Chinese on-and-off while I was there. However, most of the studying I did was targeted towards daily, spoken Chinese. For that reason, I have a better mastery of tones than most beginners (though certainly far from perfect) have better listening comprehension than my own speaking level might indicate, and know a fair amount of functional Chinese. However, I can read almost nothing because I concentrated almost exclusively on spoken Chinese while I was in Beijing.
