I would like to learn tagalog. My parents are from the PI, but they spoke english in the house while growing up so I never learned. I know some vocabulary words, but I would have to start from scratch, at the beginner level. I am willing to dedicate 5-10 hrs per week, depending on how much time my teacher is available. I would hope to find a teacher with a certain amount of patience and I hope to learn more conversationa l tagalog than written grammar.

I don't know the sinhalese language at all, but am a fast learner. I would like to learn this language because I'll be marrying into a sri lankan family, and I want to surprise my boyfriend. I need to learn how to speak (conversation ) the language. Time is not a problem, I'll dedicate as much time as it takes, and as I said, I'm a quick learner.

I speak very basic Brasilian Portuguese, and have visited Salvador Brasil. I plan to visit Brasil often. I need practice speaking the language, because I find it difficult to understand Portuguese when it is spoken to me. I would like to spend two hours a week with a tutor to suppliment my daily audio lessons. I would like to learn from someone with experience in speaking Brasilian Portuguese.

I wish to learn Irish since my parents were raised in Co. Donegal in the Gaeltacht and I would like to converse with my cousins there in their native tongue. I am a rank beginner who has learned a few phrases during visits to Donegal. If I can find a tutor nearby, I would like to learn in person; if not, internet learning is fine, BUT as an Irish speaker knows well, pronouncing the language for an English speaker is difficult. I would be able to devote perhaps 3 or 4 hours per week to my lessons. There is no professional reason why I want to learn Irish other than atavism, since I am retired. If I can find teacher who can dispense lessons by e-mail and back them up with phone conversations , for pronunciation , I would like to start my journey to learn Irish.
