I am a beginner in learning Portuguese. I have visited friends in Brazil and would like to learn their language, even though I have friends who can translate for me. I would really like to be able to speak to them myself next time I visited. During my last visit I learned a few of the basics and my little knowledge of spanish helped me to communicate a little as well. I am looking for a teacher who are in an area close to me so that I can recieve some lessons in person. I would also be willing to do lessons on-line or on the phone. I'm very serious about studing the language as I am planning to go back and spend a few months next summer studing the language and culture.

Beginner Japanese. I have basic knowledge from previous classes. I know Katakana, Hiragana, and some Kanji. I understand some basic day to day phrases.
Bul garian, I know next to nothing. I know a few Cyrillic letters.
• W hy you are learning your foreign language (e.g., career advancement, etc.).
I am trying to change careers to the field of teaching language. I am fascinated and overly dedicated to the learning of different language.
• The areas in which you feel you need particular improvement (e.g., grammar, conversation, etc.).
Japanese, I have not studied in a long time. Everything needs to be worked on. Grammar, conversation, etc.
Bulgari an, as stated earlier, I know almost nothing.
• H ow much time you want to dedicate to your language lessons.
I have no problem spending 10 hours a day learning a language. I am very motivated and eager to learn.
• Wha t qualities you are looking for in your lessons or in your teacher.
Native is best, but not a necessity. Highly proficient in speaking, reading and writing are great qualities. Patience is also nice. I am a quick learner.

I am a beginner in the Czech language. My husband immigrated from the Czech Republic. He recently passed away, and I would love to be able to communicate with our family and friends overseas. I've tried to learn Czech on my own, yet the sounds and the grammar are a tremendous challenge. I would like to take 2 hours of lessons each week from an instructor who emphasizes correct pronounciatio n and grammar.
