I am a beginner. Right now I am interning in Novi Sad, Serbia and Montenegro and plan to come back for work purposes and would like to be able to speak the language (as of now I can speak only a few words.) I return to the USA in August and will finish my last year of undergraduate education at Loyola University, which means I will only be able to dedicate as many hours as possible in between school and work. But I am very determined and willing to learn as much as possible.

I am a beginner who wants to learn Vietnamese so I can attempt to speak to my good friend who is from Saigon. Who already speaks English, but her knowledge is limited. I just feel that if she can learn my language I should try to learn hers.
I don't know any Vietnamese at all. I would dedicate at least two days a week to learning for as long as it takes.
The main quality that I look for in my teacher is patience.

Completed on year (3 quarters) of French in university, 15 years ago so would be on a beginner level, having forgotten much of what I learned. My husband is fluent and went to graduate school in France. We are attending his university reunion next June so as my goal, I would like to be conversationa l by then and simply enjoy the process of learning a new language.
I was an English major in university and had a difficult time with the verb/subject aspects of French so I am seeking a patient teacher with a sense of humor.
