I would like to learn german, I'm just a beginner, I have no experience with German at all. I want to expand my career opportunities and learn the culture. I need to learn everything that there is to be about the German Language. I would like to dedicate at least one hour a day every week to the language, and I would like to have a teacher that is availabe at nights during the week, that teaches several other students ,or one-on-one. I would like them to be native speakers and very knowledgeable in the language and culture.

I am getting married very soon to a wonderful man who is Chinese. He and his family came here from Hong Kong thirty years ago. While my fiance has become very Westernized, his parents still follow many of their country's and religion's customs; and, of course, they still speak Chinese---alo ng with some very broken English.
During gatherings and holiday events with the family, communication is a struggle, to say the least. Eventually, after a few minutes, they all fall into speaking their own language, and I am left sitting for hours not knowing what anyone is saying! My fiance translates as much as is practical, but you can imagine how frustrating this is for me!
I would like to be able to honor and communicate with my future in-laws. I could attempt to learn from books or tapes, but I find that I learn much better with a live teacher. I would need someone who is patient, as I am thirty-six years old, and do not learn as quickly as I used to!

I am a beginner level speaker of Mandarin. I have been studying for one year using Pimsleurs CDs and have also attended classes at a local language academy.
M y wife and I have two children, one is adopted from Guangchang, China. I am interested in finding an instructor who can meet with our whole family (4 people) and help us all to learn basic Chinese (spoken and maybe some simplified characters).
I believe we will be able to meet once a week with an instructor for a 2 hour class. Where and when we meet is negotiable. I am looking for an instructor that enjoys children and is comfortable teaching to a small group.
