I am interested in learning the Italian language because I am half Italian and have always wanted to learn how to speak the language. Two years ago, I took an elem. Italian class via distance education. I was eager to learn the basics of the language, because my family and I were going to spend a week in Italy. We were also going to be visiting my husband's Italian relatives, many of whom did not speak English.
Listening to audio tapes was the only chance I had to hear the spoken language, which made it difficult for me as I had no immediate feedback while I was learning.
I would like to continue to study Italian to increase my vocabulary and proficiency. We are planning another trip to Italy within the next year and a half, so I would really like to be more comfortable with the language.
I would like to get to the intermediate level and would be interested in small group sessions, or one-on-one sessions if the small group was possible.

My sister and I have begun to learn the Italian language. She is married to a man who was born in Italy and speaks fluent Italian. She wants her children to also learn their heritage and has signed them up for lessons. To keep pace with them, she would like to become fluent. I have always been fascinated with foreign languages and Italian is one I would like to learn. Also, I know it is easier to learn a language if you have someone to practice with. With both of us learning, we can help eachother learn faster. I have learned some basic vocabulary, but have no experience with grammar or conversation. Jackie has learned through exposure to her husbands family, but also needs help with her grammar and conversation. We would like to work with a tutor at least 2 days per week to learning Italian with a tutor. We are looking for a instructor who would not mind guiding us as we learn Italian. Also, someone who can chat with us, preferably in Italian as we become more accomplished.
