I would like to learn Italian for personal and professional reasons. I am looking to travel to Italy towards the end of next year and, if possible, I am considering living there. I have visited Italy twice before. I love the language, culture and country very much.
I am a beginner who is currently using Duolingo.
While I find Duolingo a good starting point, I feel I would improve more and learn quicker from having more practice speaking the language with a Italian speaking person.
I am looking to spend approximately 2 hours per fortnight (perhaps more - depending on cost) in joining a class or from private face-face lessons. In addition I would like to study with a tutor who offers alongside the classes self study structured lessons. Further, I can be very flexible with regards to the times for the classes/lesso ns.
In a tutor I am looking for a native, mature teacher with lots of teaching experience (background) with a fun earthy and flexible nature. In addition, I would like the classes offered to be either held in Falcon and or Mandurah WA (a must). Also, I am flexible regarding the lessons which can take place either in their or my home or at another place of their choice.

1) I want to learn Italian, since I am moving to Bologna for my exchange and I am looking forward to immersing myself into the Italian culture, and the starting point of doing that is to have a better knowledge of the language! I was always keen into language learning, especially italian,since i currently study in the Netherlands, in a very multicultural and international environment which motivates and inspires me to have contact with other languages except English and Greek.
2) I am a beginner, but since i took Latin in Highschool, i understand a lot of Italian when i listen to it.
3) I need improvement in grammar and vocabulary and speaking
4 ) I am willing to do extensive courses during the summer - i am willing to dedicate 2 hours per day
5)I am looking for an energetic, creative teacher who doesnt limit the courses to just grammar and vocabulary and finds creative ways to further immerse me into the language and that will only speak italian to me so that i can become fluent for daily basic conversations .

I am wanting to learn Italian to aid my ability in going to grad school in Italy. I am hoping to start grad school in Italy as early as September, 2025. As a 3rd generation American, English is what is spoken in my family. I'd love to be able to communicate with my relatives in Italy easier, and have a connection to my matriarchal ancestry.
My proficiency level is beginner. In my two weeks in Italy+Duoling o (along with taking Spanish in high school), I have a very basic understanding of the latin based language!
I feel I need improvement in conversation and grammar :)
Id like to dedicate anywhere from 1 to 3 hours a week to language lessons. (I am flexible with a teacher's perspective on time needed to learn best). If you are in the local area of Whatcom County, WA, Id be happy to meet in person!
I am looking for qualities in a teacher that include; compassion, kindness, open minded, helpful, patient, able to reasonably challenge my growth, and a good sense of humor!
