I am learning Japanese because I would like to be able to work in Japan. This October I will be applying to the JET Program and if I am accepted would like to be prepared ahead of time.
Curr ently I am around a strong beginner/weak intermediate level. I have been studying Japanese on-and-off on my own for about 6 years.
I have a lot of work to do before I will reach my Japanese skill goals, but my biggest concern at present is more complex grammar such as if-then statements. As well, I'd like to learn about when to, and not to, use familiar/form al language.
I would like to use 1 to 3 hours per week with a teacher to learn, and use homework and extra material to practice some more on my own.
I would like my lessons and teacher to be engaging and informative. I'm a quick learner so a teacher that is able to keep my interest through and prepare enough material for the entire lesson would be ideal.

I am going to Ukraine next year for business purposes on a long term visit and so I would like to day to day learn Russian / Ukrainian to be able to converse well in the Russian language at grocery stores, in the streets, movie theatres, restaurants etc to make living easier for me in the Ukraine.

I am wanting to learn italian for personal reasons. I am a beginner level. Conversation is the most important skill I want to develop and what I have struggled with in the past learning second languages. I would be able to dedicate 2-4 hours per week to my learning. I am looking for a teacher who is patient and understanding who is willing to go more slowly than with most students. I know that I will need a lot of structure and repetition.
