My husband, of 21 years, speaks cantonese and mandarin but unfortunately is not a natural teacher. I would like to be able to communicate better at family functions. I have a grasp of simple phrases and limited vocabulary. My motivation is very much directed to conversation. I have recently semi-retired, so have ample time to dedicate to the pursuit, if the instruction is going well. I am looking for a teacher that is patient and has an enthusaistic nature like myself.

I am going to Brazil in December to visit my son and would like to learn some Portuguese before I go. I am a beginner. I think I would do better with in person lessons. I would like a patient teacher as I am 62 and I don't learn as well as I did at 20. Everything depends on the price of the lessons.

I want to learn a foreign language because I believe it will help me in my career, or in any case that I encounter other people who can't speak English. Not only that but I wish to travel to other countries and be able to safely tour the streets without feeling lost or confused. I wish to learn proper grammar and conversation, as well as how to read or write using correct grammar. Since I am starting college again soon, I will dedicate as much days as I can to my language lessons since I am eager to learn. As for my language teacher, I want it to be someone patient and someone who will easily communicate with me as well as give feedback.
