I work for the Canadian Government and will be travelling to Afghanistan in the near future. I feel that it is necessary for me to learn Farsi so that I may communicate with the people I will be working with in Afghanistan and through out the middle east. I do not have any experience with the Persian language but feel confident that I can 'pick it up' with a little hard work. I will be leaving in Feb 05 and will dedicate as much time as necessary to make sure I am prepared to go.

I am a beginner. I want to be able to speak, read and write fluently at least one of the languages of the country. I love chinese movies and I understand that the country has a very rich culture and very old history. My dream is to visit mainland china, hongkong and singapore.
The time I dedicate will depend on my availability. My work and home can sometimes be rather demanding. Nevertheless I am a very dedicated learner.
I am thinking that I may have a higher success rate if my lessons are private in person, but I am willing to discuss the alternative route, as my job can require travel and therefore, lessons may be more convienent and consistent if I were to learn on line.
