I was born in Italy but came to the United States as a child. (I forgot the italian language) About two years ago, I took Italian language classes using the book Oggi in Italia and really enjoyed it. I then spent a month in Italy and was able to practice my new language skills while vacationing.
When I returned, I stopped speaking/prac ticing Italian and forgot much that I had learned. I recently began taking Italian courses again but I am a fast learner and the people in the class that I am in they are slowing me down. ALso the class is strictly conversationa l.
I would like to speak Italian fluently and understand the grammer. I am not interested in a conversationa l only class-- I would like to study Italian grammer and culture, in addition to enahnacing my vocabulary. I also would like to read Italian liturature (basic at first), and watch italian movies and discuss them, perhaps read italian newspapers and magazines, over and above just conversationa l studies, etc.
I could spend 2-3 nights each week ( 7pm- 9pm) and an occassional Saturday morning if I need to in order to learn Italian. I work full time but now over the next couple of months I have plenty of time to study. Beginning in February, I will have to reduce my studies to a couple of nights a week maybe starting as late as 7:30 pm
I would like a teacher who is bright, energetic with personality who can speak both English and Italian fluently, can teach me Italian grammer and culture of Italy and broaden my knowledge of Italy, its language and culture. In a couple of years, I would like to return to Italy speaking like a native Italian.

I have very little knowlege of Italian, and will be starting off as a beginner. I have some knowledge of French and Spanish that may help.
I'm seeking to learn because I would like to speak at least one other language and though Spanish may be more functional, I work in an environment that puts me in touch with many native Italians and I have developed a love and passion for the culture. It'd be very cool to be able to speak with them in their language.
I work full time (plus some) but I'm dedicated to learning, so how much time I'm willing to spend depends on what is necessary.
A s for what I'd look for in a teacher, I'd preferr a native speaker who can pace my lessons based on how quickly I can move through the material. Flexibility is key, as I have a forever changing schedule and it may be difficult to arrange for a rock solid schedule. I'd also prefer someone with some experience in teaching language vs. someone whose sole qualification is that they are a native speaker. (having a talent doesn't always translate into being able to teach it)

I have had some German, so I am familiar with the language and wish to expand my vocabulary and working knowledge.
I am a complete beginner in Italian. I am a very fast learner, however, and very excited to begin learning this languages.
I would like some grammar in both languages (as I think this helps understand the language better), but I would like to focus on conversation.
I am learning these languages simply because it's something I want to do, and I enjoy visiting both countries and would like to speak the native languages.
I can probably dedicate 3-6 hours a week.

I am a level 2 student, or so I hope after 2 years of private lessons.
O ne day I hope to live in Italy. Also, a friend pointed out that my Italian passport means little if I can't speak the language.
My biggest weaknesses are vocabulary and conversation.
Ideally I would like one lesson a week, three weeks a month.

I am a beginner/inte rmediate Italian student. I studied in Italy for about four months, but I have forgotten much of it. I would like to improve my conversation abilities, as well as vocabulary, and grammar. I would like to meet for a couple hours a week, but I need a great deal of flexibility due to my work and school schedules. I can also work on my own if lessons are provided. I would prefer a native speaker as my tutor, but that is only because of the accent. I want a good authentic accent, and I want to be able to proficiently converse with native speakers.
