I have a basic understanding , not real indepth.Looki ng for a teacher in Jersey or NYC. Looking to learn the right way and the conversationa l way. I have an Italian background however it was never taught to me. I have friends that speak Italian but not like they used to because they no longer have anyone to speak in Italian to. I studied Italian for 3 semesters and Indiana University. I was not able to spend the amount of time I wanted to aquiring this language and would like to work further to improve my skills. My proficiency level in learning the Italian language is beginner. I have always wanted to learn Italian because my family has a strong Italian background. My sister took a class in it in college but gave up because it was too hard. I want to dedicate a few hours a day to learning the language either in a class or with a private tutor. I would like to learn so that I can take trips to Italy and be able to interpret everything and have intelligent conversations with them. I know little Spanish and I hear that it is somewhat like Italian. I am looking for a teacher who is patient, sophisticated , and really willing to help me.
