I would like to learn french - the basics up to knowing how to converse in it. Two reasons why I chose French. First because I find it a sexy language and I want to be able to understand words and phrases I read in novels, etc. Second reason is I am applying for immigration to Canada and want to be competitive in job hunting when I get there.

I am a beginner. I am interested in learning either French or German or Spanish. I want to learn the language for career advancement and be proficient enough to take up a job in an IT company as a language specialist. I need to get strong skills in spoken, written, and reading. I can dedicate from three to four hours a day for language lessons.
M y teacher should be proficient enough in the language that even if she/he is not a native the language proficiency should be equal to that of a native. Moreover, he/she shall prepare me for language proficiency tests.

I would really like to learn Polish. My boyfriend is from Poland and we went there last summer for 5 weeks. It was an amazing experience. I love the language and their culture. I would have to say I am a beginner. I learned a little while I was there, but my boyfriend translated for me most of the time. My boyfriend has attempted to teach me, but he can't explain why you say one thing and not another. I want to learn grammar and conversation, but not writing. I will dedicate as much time as I need to learn the language. It is very important to me. I have taken two languages already so I have an idea of what kind of teacher I would like. I like a teacher that can explain why, like why you say this to an older person, and this to a younger person. Also, a teacher who gives you ways to remember things to make it a little easier.
