Hello,
I am a beginner in French. I’m interested in engaging in conversation lessons on a semiprivate basis (i.e. in a group of two or three other students). The reason for studying French is career advancement. I am willing to dedicate 4+ hours per week to this endeavour. Ideally, I would like to teach someone English in exchange for learning French. I learn best in a casual environment.

I currently have no French language skills. My interests are both personal and business related. My job entails 2 to 3 trips a year to Europe and I currently have business contacts with a French company. I've developed a friendship with a couple of people in prior business dealings and although they speak fluent English I would like to show them respect and try to communicate to them in their native language.
My main focus is conversationa l French, however it's also important to me to be able to read French.
As for what qualities I'm looking for in a teacher, the only expectation I have it that someone that can teach me in a way that I can learn.

I have learnt French in school for 4 years - 9th to 12th Std. That was way back in 1990. I look forward to brush up my skills and learn advanced French. I am a software professional and am currently at home because I have a little one. I want to learn French so that I would be able to do technical translations. Alliance Francaise is far off for me.
