I have been studying French off and on for many years but my level cannot increase as I have no access to challenging conversation. In addition, my four homeschooled children are learning French basics through computer and video. My oldest daughter, 12 years, has begun corresponding with a French penpal.
I enjoy learning French and having my children learn French for the cultural awareness and because french is an important diplomatic language.

I have always wanted to speak French, because of the beauty of the language. I met someone at a conference and made a promise that I would learn the language. I have been learning slowly with interactice cd's, but prefer live interaction. I would be prepared to dedicate at least 4 hours a week to classes and then enything extra to read etc. The only qualities I am looking for in a teacher is that he or she must be able to be fluent in both English and French and be patient with beginners.

I took only one french course last year and now i'm still a beginner. I want to go to France this year to study but I might take an international course instead because I don't think I can make it in time, but after all I have to use french there as you know that there are not many people going to speak English with me. At least to make a basic conversation with people for a living but I hope I could learn and know more.
