I always wanted to learn sign language. I am in India now for a little while and I think this is a great opportunity to learn it now. I am a beginner and I want to learn it for basic conversation.
I will not be staying here too long so I am willing to dedicate as much time I need to learn.
As I mentioned before, I want to learn sign language for conversation. Hence, I am looking for a teacher who can teach me the basics to take me to the next level.

My mother age 70, is almost deaf. She has had significant hearing loss in last two years. We bought new hearing aids two days ago and it barely helps. The aids are unitron latitude BTE's. My family would like to learn sign language as a part of our communication with mom. It is frustrating for both mom and people who try to communicate with her, because even with aids, she has a very very hard time understanding . She feels out of the conversation and I approached her and my family about signing. My mom lives in the same house as my sister, husband and I. We would love to have someone teach us sign language.

I had tongue cancer and is becoming more difficult to coomunicate with words. I would be definetely a beginner. At this stage conversation is my main objective.
