Hi My name is Melissa,
I have never spoken another language before but I have always wanted to
learn. I have a 2yr old daughter and I want us both to learn Italian, to write, read and speak.I want my daughter and I eventually to be able to speak Italian fluently together. I
thought that if I could find a way to learn Italian myself then I could
teach my daughter as she grows. With my daughter I not only cannot find any classes close to me to teach myself Italian but I was hoping to teach myself at home, I have looked at things advertised on the internet but I cannot find anthing in Australia and everything overseas is really expensive. I am very flexiable with time so I would happy to work around whovever who would be willing to help us. I look forward to your reply.

I have never learnt Italian before and would like an Italian teacher (female) to teach my two children aged 7 yrs and 5 yrs and myself.
We would like to learn the language to become fluent speakers because we love travelling to Italy and because I believe children should learn languages at a young age.
I would like someone who has experience in teaching the Italian language and has references.
I'm not sure how many hours a week we will need lessons, but maybe 1-2 hours per week.

I am currently studying Italian at Year4/Advance d level at the University of Adelaide, Department of Professional and Continuing Education. The class includes several native Italian speakers and is too mixed in terms of skill levels for me. I feel that I am not learning in the most effective way. I would prefer a private tutor, teaching one to one, or in a small group of maybe three to five people. I believe that I am well versed in Italian grammar but I need to improve my conversation skills and confidence. My aim is to become fluent.
My wife is Italian (speaks a Veneto dialect) and we hope to travel to Italy in the next year or so. We may even have an extended stay of six months or more.
I would be very pleased to hear from any teachers available for private lessons.
