I am attempting to learn Italian primarily as an alternative to Sudoku puzzles in maintaining mental acuity and to make travel to Italy (which I hope to do more of) more enjoyable. Mio levello di competenza, senza aiuto di Google, e' credo, intermedio per scritto e principiante per parlare. Accordingly, I am looking for help primarily to develop some conversationa l competency. I am thinking that one 90 minute session per week would be a good way to start but am open to suggestions in this regard. Naturally, I am looking for a teacher with patience and good technique in mentoring conversationa l competency.

Greetings,
My name is Louise Roy and as you see from my name I have a french background... however never learned the french language. I have learned upto grade 8 but honestly do not remember much.
As for Italian, I am looking at possibly moving to Italy next year and would like to know the language if only basic.
Ple ase advise if you can help, I see your classes started yesterday being Jan. 4th so Im not sure if I am to late or not.

Need to learn Italian as have holiday home in region that has no English speaking population. I intend to spends lots of time there in the future.
I have no Italian. Have tried to use CD which is limited as nobody there to give me hints about my pronunciation and alternative commonly used phrases.
I would need a teacher with tolerance and sense of humour along with passion for the language.
