I am currently studying BA History and African Studies course at SOAS university. Kiswahili is also an optional course I have chosen. However, approaching my third year of Kiswahili, I have found this struggle. My origins are from Kenya, though born in the UK with English as my first language. I would like to improve greatly in both written and communicative language skills, though find this a challenge, especially with learning difficulties. I would say my current language proficiency is intermediate, though not so confident in oral.
I would like a professional teacher who is able to push these barriers with dedication, understanding , patience and commitment. An hour or 2 a week i feel would be sufficient before term time begins in oct.

I want to learn Swahili because I plan to visit Africa in a year and a half. I am a beginner I know very few words. I am hoping to join a class for lessons and hopefully twice a week for at least an hour class. I wish to learn to speak Swahili as I plan to move to Tanzania to work with my partner and his family in a Safari business. I am a beginner, although I have been learning to read and write Swahili for the past year and I am able to understand a basic sentence. I need someone who I can learn to have a conversation with as I am having difficulty with speaking and pronunciation . I would like to have lessons 2-3times a week. I need my teacher to be patient as I struggle with the accent and I need them to be willing to set me assignments and to push me to learn as fast as possible.

Ive been studying German at carleton university for 2 semesters.
I learnt alot about grammar and rules, but im more interested in the conversationa l aspects. Although at this point idefinnitly need to go over all the basics once again.
