I am a beginner in Italian but am eager to learn. I was born in Peru and so I speak spanish fluently. My goal is to learn Italian for general purpose of personal improvement. I can't speak Italian but sometimes I understand it. I would be able to dedicate one or two classes a week for a period of semester. My ideal outcome would be, to able to use converse in Italian fluently aswell being able to write it.

My husband and I would like to begin taking Italian lessons. We are both interested in foreign languages (I have previously studied French, Latin, and Swedish)and, as we now have family living in Italy, would like to be able to converse with them in Italian. Because of the demands of work we would not be able to dedicate ourselves entirely to lessons, but several hours a week would be manageable--p erhaps an hour or two of lessons once a week or so and then lots of work on our own? The ideal teacher would be located in Edmonton or the surrounding area, would be flexible when dealing with a farmer's erratic schedule, and would have a sense of humor in dealing with total beginners.
