i am looking to commence a beginner course in Italian. I want to learn this language for self satisfaction. I want to improve myself. Since i am a beginner i will be starting at a basic level. 2 lessons a week is the ammount of time i would like to spend at class and 10 hours of study time is what i am willing to put in. I would like a teacher who gets great enjoyment out of teaching and seeing their students excel.

I'm a beginner, I did 1 semester at uni but i didn't do very weel. I want to learn Italian for a few reasons, firstly because it has always been a dream of mine, but also because I am returning to Italy at the end of the year and I want to be able to communicate.
I can probably spend one or two hours a week having lessons, I myself am a high school teacher, so my plate is fairly full. As for my lessons, i would prefer private lessons as I feel i learn better that way, and I need a patient teacher who is happy to explain everything!

I am a beginner in Italian. I want to learn this language because my husband's family is italian. We have 3 small children and I would like them to learn the language also. I would like to have tutoring once a week with myself and my children. The qualities that I am looking for in a teacher is someone who is non-threateni ng, encouraging and will keep the lessons interesting for children!

Lessons would be for four members of the same family.
The Grandfather was born in the US of parents born in Italy, so he is very familiar with the language but has never used it regularly.
The Father has been speaking Italian for business purposes for nearly 15 years. While his ability to speak and write Italian is reasonably good, his ability to understand Italian, particularly when spoken quickly is not as good as he requires. In school he had five years of Latin and two years of French.
Th e Mother was exposed to Italian, spoken by her Grandparents (Grandfather' s parents) when young. In school she had two years of Spanish.
T he Daughter (13 years old) studied Italian when she was 5 and 6 years old, at a special school (supported by the Italian Government) located in Boston's North End. Lessons occurred weekly. She currently studies French in Middle School.
Th e family still has relatives in Borgia (Calabria), with whom they want to communicate regularly and visit more frequently. The Father conducts business regularly in Italy. The family qualifies for, and is applying for, Italian citizenship. Therefore, it is important that all develop fluency in the language.
