I took an intensive Kiswahili course while studying abroad in Kenya. This was almost two years ago. Although I have had experience, I assume my proficiency level is beginner.
I hope to teach in Kenya beginning in late 2006.
Conv ersation
I am a teacher, so I am available during the summer months, and am flexible about the region of the US in which I study. I hope to spend a significant amount of that time learning Kiswahili.
I am hopeful that my lessons will predominately be focused on conversation and will help me to be comfortable communicating , especially with children. I hope to be challeneged, as I learned quite a bit in such a short time when I was in Kenya. As I study, I hope to be as fully emmersed in the language as possible.

I have been working in Tanzania but don't have Swahili knowledge. (Beginner)
Would like to learn to use during work -- right now I just want to learn how to greet people, ask basic questions, and get around.
Want to learn basics and general conversation.
Can dedicate a few hours/week to get started.
I need a very interactive teacher, someone who will drill me and make me practice out loud. (Along with a basic book to refer too. Want to be able to recognize written language as well.)
