I started learning Hindi when I did an internship in Mumbai for 4 months in 2010. I am currently taking a class, but it does not suit my needs because the beginner level is too easy and the 2nd level too hard. Also I am doing a PhD and my timetable is quite irregular, so working with a tutor will be better. I am not in a hurry to learn but want to improve all areas thoroughly, grammar, vocab, writing... I am at an intermediate level. For my tutor I am looking for someone who explains grammar well and accurately - I have done a degree in French so have experience of learning grammar, and like to cover grammar rules. And I want to do homework. I would be interested in fortnightly lessons, possibly weekly depending on finances! I am still enrolled on the class so would like to meet for a trial and then go from there. I could meet in central London or in SW2 area.

I am a beginner. I'd like to learn Italian because I like the sound and feel of the language. The most important quality I am looking for in a teacher is that we are on the same wavelength. I am less interested in a grammatically driven approach and would like to be able to learn the language through feel in conversation and reading.

The reason I am trying to learn Hungarian is that it might, in the medium-term future, be possible for me to live in Hungary. I have learned one or two other languages, in addition to my native English, at university and when living abroad. I have begun to learn from a book, using Carol Rounds 'Essential Hungarian' and also using Banhidi, Jokay and Szabo 'Learn Hungarian' from the Tanuljunk nyelveket! series. I am a beginner, who is struggling to get to grips with the numerous suffixes, prefixes and the pronoun forms.
Depen ding upon the cost of lessons, I would like to have up to three hours' contact time, via Skype, with the person teaching me.
