My partner is Filipino and I want to learn to speak Tagalog so we can gossip about other people in public. Joke lang. It would be nice to be able to speak with his family as well in Tagalog, even though of course they all speak English. I have done a little bit of self study before, but I'm very much a beginner. I would hope to spend 1 or 2 hours a week in lessons and then have some practical 'homework' throughout the week as well.

Additionally, learning a foreign language enhances cultural understanding and facilitates communication with diverse audiences, which are valuable skills in various professional settings.
Specifically , I feel that I need particular improvement in conversationa l skills and listening comprehension .
