I took Italian classes during college, but found that I did not have enough time to devote to the language at that time. I would consider myself to be a beginner, but I do still have some basic knowledge of grammar. I want to learn this language for several reasons. My grandparents speak Italian, and I know that it would strengthen my relationship with them if I could speak their language. Another reason to learn the language is so I can travel to Italy and be able to get around the country with ease. I need much improvement in conversationa l Italian because that is where I will be using it the most. I am willing to devote as much time as I need to learning this language. I can take classes once a week,and study on my own when I am not in class. I would like a teacher that will work with me in a small group, and make me feel comfortable with the conversationa l aspect of the language.

I would be in the BEGINNERS group. I do not know much about Italian but i would love to learn it. I have goals of also learning French and Portuguese. I already speak Spanish and English. I would like to be a Linguist in the near future, and I feel that those languages are very rare to find here in Texas. But I would enjoy learning and when the opportunity pops up show off my language skills to those in need. I have always been intrigued by language and culture, and i would like to expand mine. I would like to have at least 2 hours out of 2days a week. I need a teacher who will be patient with me, who speaks the languages as they are to be spoken in the original country, someone that I will be able to understand if they were to speak to me in English. Also I hope for the lessons not to be overly costly. I would like to know the cost of lessons up front, because that will also help determine my desicions.

I have taken one Italian course in college However I don't feel that I really learned much about the language because of the style of teaching that was used. I have taken spanish for many many years and am decent at speaking it. I want to learn Italian because I am planning to study abroad in milan italy in the spring of 2007, my main course of study will be fashion design. I do not have a specific amount range that I am willing to pay, the cost is not a problem. I would like a teacher who will help me step by step and not rush through the lessons. I need someone who will start from the beginning and teach me even the most common things like colors, days of the week etc...

Lived in Italy for several months 5 years ago and had basic conversationa l Italian at that time (office language was English). Have not used language for about 5 years but have recently completed Rosetta stone intermediate computer based lessons so have regained some comprehension . Principal initial aim is to get to a point where I can understand films in Italian so that I can rebuild my vocabulary and understanding by watching Dvd's (without the English subtitles) - something that is beyond my capability at the moment i.e to bridge between the Rosetta Stone and the ability to self learn through exposure i.e watching video's listening to radio on internet etc with continued speaking practice via skype.
