I'm really interested in learning the sign language. I have never spoken to people with the inability to speak and this would be the time for me to approach them and get to know them better. Also I think it would be really fascinating to speak in sign.
I'm an absolute beginner and I want to learn how to make and have ongoing conversation with them.
About the time, I'm not sure. I want to be able to converse well even after I've stopped the lessons. If the teacher thinks I've covered the basic things to know about sign language then we'll stop there. Hopefully we can make arrangements from there on.
As I'm a beginner, I wouldn't know much about the sign language. So I really hope to have a patient and tolerant teacher. A teacher that can make the teaching and learning lessons fun. A well versed teacher. Having a female teacher would be better but I'm open with male teachers too. Also, I know that there are a lot of sign language systems. Malaysia has one called BIM. America has one, ASL. I would like to learn both as I'm a Malaysian and I want to be equipped with an international one as I travel.
