I am going to Italy in April for a wedding. I want to learn some basic Italian before I go. I am a beginner, but am somewhat familiar with the language, as I spent a month in Italy during a study abroad ten years ago. I would like a teacher to help me get started with the basic verbs, pronunciation , and basic phrases. I am a quick learner, but I travel a lot, so the instructor needs to be flexible (in both ways to communicate and number of lessons/frequ ency I can commit to).

Lessons would be for four members of the same family.
The Grandfather was born in the US of parents born in Italy, so he is very familiar with the language but has never used it regularly.
The Father has been speaking Italian for business purposes for nearly 15 years. While his ability to speak and write Italian is reasonably good, his ability to understand Italian, particularly when spoken quickly is not as good as he requires. In school he had five years of Latin and two years of French.
Th e Mother was exposed to Italian, spoken by her Grandparents (Grandfather' s parents) when young. In school she had two years of Spanish.
T he Daughter (13 years old) studied Italian when she was 5 and 6 years old, at a special school (supported by the Italian Government) located in Boston's North End. Lessons occurred weekly. She currently studies French in Middle School.
Th e family still has relatives in Borgia (Calabria), with whom they want to communicate regularly and visit more frequently. The Father conducts business regularly in Italy. The family qualifies for, and is applying for, Italian citizenship. Therefore, it is important that all develop fluency in the language.

I am more or less at a beginners level. I grew up with Italian speaking family members and took 2 years of Italian in college. I am currently finishing the third level of Rosetta Stone for Italian.
I have a very specific need: I have exactly one month to study for an Italian translation test. While the test is not very difficult, I have already failed it once and it is very important that I pass it this time.
Alth ough I would like to learn as much Italian as possible (and would consider continuing lessons after the test!) for now I am looking to pass a TRANSLATION test (Italian to English).
I am willing to spend quite a bit of time on this (meet several times per week).
