I am looking for an Icelandic Tutor. When I was in Grad school, I lived in Reykjavik for a year as part of an exchange program. I have been studying Icelandic at home ever since and I come back to Iceland every year for a visit. My goal is to become fluent in the language. I want to master grammar and become fluent enough to converse on an every day basis. I am willing to dedicate time every day to study of the language. The quality that I am looking for most in a teacher is flexibility. I want to find a tutor that will work with me on grammar as well as on conversation. I would like to use Email and Skype (or something similar). Thanks!

I wish to learn Mandarin because I am fascinated in the Chinese culture and lifestyle. I hope to visit China some day and would also like to be able to talk to my Mandarin speaking friends in their native language. I am a beginner. I need to start with the VERY basics. I am very interested in learning Vietnamese. My wife is Vietnamese and she has taught me some. However, I am away on business for 6 months and would like to really dedicate my learning. Plus, I would like to surprise her on how much I learn. I was thinking if I could spend 30 to 45 minutes a day for Monday through Friday or Monday, Wednesday, Friday would be idea.
I am very analytical person, so I really like to ask the why questions. Why is it pronounced this way or that. I find myself getting confused when I learn, because I am sure I don't practice enough.
An yways, if someone could teach me that would be great. However, I am a slow learner and probably will ask a lot of questions.

I spent some time in Tanzania a few years ago and loved it!! I took some Swahili classes after coming back but have stopped for 1.5 years. I would love to get back to learning the language as some day I hope to go back and practice at least part time in East Africa. I'm most certainly a beginner as I've lost a lot of the language I had previously learned. I need particular improvement in my conversationa l skills. It's much easier to read a sentence and take the time to review the grammar but synthesizing it is very difficult. I would like to dedicated about an hour a day to learning Swahili (not lessons every day but studying). Perhaps a lesson 1-2hrs a week.
