I am a american sign language interpreter. I have had deaf students take spanish for the last 6 years and I have interpreted the classes using Mexican sign language. I have been teaching myself out of a book but would really like to take classes in this field so that I am using it properly. I am interested in doing a language abroad program next summer, which specifically teaches spanish as well as mexican sign language anywhere in the country. Greetings,
I have an affinity and great love for the Gaelic arts, song, story-telling , history, and culture. I'm a 'newbie' and need to start from the very beginning.
I am a singer/songwr iter, and recently learned and performed by first Celtic pieces for the public. The inflections, ornaments, and intonnations came quite naturally, and proved to be a hit with the several different audiences. This has inspired me to investigate the possibilites of learning to speak and sing in Gaelic.
I am seeking a patient and highly proficient teacher who doesn't mind a student who asks 'a lot' of questions, and won't allow me to skip the grammatical 'nitty gritty' details. As there are no Gaelic instructors near my area, so I need to study via Internet/tele phone.
I can safely say that I can dedicate 6-8 hours per week towards language studies.
