My name is Christi. I am married to a man from Dubrovnik and we have two children. Because of my husband's job, he is travelling most of the year and doesn't have the time really to teach us his language. My in-laws in Dubrovnik do not speak any English at all and I speak VERY little Croatian. When we visit them, it is very difficult for me to communicate with them.
It is my goal to learn enough Croatian so that I can feel more comfortable when in Croatia. Oh, and one other thing: I know there are different dialects in many areas of Croatia so I would prefer someone who is comfortable teaching the Dalmatian way of speaking. Hvala lijepa!

I am currently working as a consultant in Biloxi, MS and expect to be here for approximately 8 months (until August/Septem ber, 2008). I would like to become reasonably proficient in conversationa l Spanish with one-on-one classes of approximately 2 hours, once a week, before traveling to Ecuador for an extended period (evenings or weekends only). My current level is beginner, with the ability to ask a few basic questions re: directions; order food in a restaurant, etc. I expect to study on a daily basis, but believe I need to listen and speak with someone directly - not just learn through tapes or on-line study.
