My child's teacher and the high school Mandarin teacher thought my 8 year old should be taking Mandarin classes. Another 2nd grader moved to Singapore so they learned about parts of Asia. They had to learn a few Mandarin songs and do some simple reading and it was thought my child was picking it up very easily.

I started learning Japanese last August, useing the computer system Rosetta Stone, but its been a year, and I got half way through the first program, but had to start over due to our computer crashing. Rosetta Stone has'nt gotten me very far, once I started it back up. Thats why I'm looking for a tutor who I can talk to face to face. In a couple years, I hope to go to Japan as an exchange student for a year, so I really want to be very fluent in the japanese language.

I am looking for tutors in either Finnish, German, or Russian. I am just interested in expanding my language repertoire. The only languages I have learned so far are English (my native language) and Spanish (studying in school/colleg e). I am on a leave-term from school for the moment and would like to take some language lessons until I return in March. I am looking for someone who is skilled and willing to teach a complete beginner. Since I do not return until March I would like to move at a semi-fast pace so I can use the time until I return to its maximum potential.
