To Whom It May Concern:
I would like to learn how to speak, write and read the polish language. My wife is from Poland and polish is her native language. She speaks, writes amd reads english fluently (she went to school in the U.S.). However, I think it would be best for me to learn from an individual who has been formally trained to teach a foreign language. On the plus side, my wife will be able to assist me during the week. It is difficult to carry a lengthy conversation with her parents since they do not speak english very well. I would like to overcome this challenge by learning their native tongue.
My proficiency level is beginner.
The area I would like to concentrate on is conversation. However, I plan on learning all areas.
Initially , I think I would like to dedicate ninety (90) minutes per week.
Some of the qualities in a teacher I am looking for are: thorough, detail oriented, clear expectations, understanding of the upcoming challenges when one is in the process of learning a new language, sense of humor.

I kind of fell into learning Russian back in the 90's and circumstances have again allowed me to persue further fluency. I suppose other than to be able to use it in church, and with friends here, I hope to go on a mission trip to the Ukraine in the future.
I'm really not sure what my proficiency level is. My grammer stinks as I've never really had any 'professional ' instruction. It is a constant source of frustration for me. I'm rapidly coming to the point where I need to either get something like Rosetta Stone or go to a formal class, (other than the one I already attend). The other area which I am trying for all I'm worth to better myself at is comprehension when I'm being spoken to. Even when someone says something I should know, I either can't remember the words fast enough to keep up or don't understand the form of word being said as they change all the timee depending on useage!
I have a limited budget to allow for this, however I REALLY do want to become fluent, so I can be available often. I do however have a odd schedual that I would have to work around.
I would very much enjoy a class with other students where there is alot of talking, and creative learning and not so much emphasis on mundane reading of grammatical rules.
