I just got married last December and my husband is Korean. We had a Korean wedding in Korea in December, and will be having the American wedding in September. Most of his family does not speak English. I want to learn the Korean language and customs so that I can communicate with my new family, as well as observe and respect the culture.
Spanish is my first language, but I speak English fluently. I love learning languages and majored in French, as well as spent a semester in France. I would love to learn Korean as well. My husband and I hope to raise our kids speaking Korean, Spanish, and English, and it would help if I spoke Korean as well. We also want them to know and understand both Korean and Puerto Rican customs.
I am a beginner, and know only a couple basic phrases, and some customs. I would like lessons that teach conversationa l Korean and Korean customs. Maybe someone who could meet once or twice a week with me. I am looking for a teacher who is patient and is eager and enthusiastic about teaching Korean, both the language and culture. I am very excited. I can't wait to start learning and one day be able to call my mother in law and speak to her in Korean.
