I am a college sophomore in my first year of learning Modern Standard Arabic. I want to increase my proficiency as much as possible. I hope to improve my vocabulary, reading, writing, and speaking skills. I am looking for someone that will conduct private lessons with me this summer (June-August 2006), perhaps meeting once a week or every other week. I am at the beginner's level of learning Ukrainian. I know how to write the letters and read them. I know some words, as I have started lessons (but never finsihed) and my family is from Ukraine, but I do not know enough or understand enough to get by in a full conersation.
I'd like to learn Ukrainian because I hope to one day visit my family's native land, and to also communicate with my Dido and Baba in their native language.
I'd like to set aside a weekly time to learn. Also I'd like inexpensive lessons as I am a Graduate Student at the University fo Massachusetts Boston, and so I do not have much money between school, rent and bills.
I am looking for a patient, friendly teacher who can help me learn and help build my confidence in my learning the laguage so that I feel comfortable trying to speak it.
