Very highly recommended!

Several years ago I did a trip to Costa Rica. Upon arrival the person who greeted me leaving the airplane said “Bienvenido a Costa Rica, ¿como está?” Having no idea what that meant, nor how to respond, I considered spending some time learning Spanish.

Considering Spanish is far more prevalent in the Americas than any other language excepting English, the idea made sense to me. I immediately signed up for the daily Spanish lesson taught by the staff at the resort where I was staying. A week later upon my return to Canada my desire to learn was stronger yet. I started searching on the internet for Spanish teachers in the area. I emailed several that I found on Language-School-Teachers.com and of the respondents, César Torreblanca seemed like a good choice. Little did I know at the time how good that choice was, even less could I have foreseen how this would shape my learning experience and send me on an adventure that continues to this day!

I began with César, and less than a month later made a trip to Málaga in the south of Spain. I remember my big accomplishment of that trip was purchasing a postcard without using one word of English! I was even more excited and inspired. César began by teaching me in a very different manner than I had seen language taught. In fact to this day I haven’t seen it taught using the unique style that he employs. He began by teaching me an entire cross section of language so that I could immediately begin constructing sentences. That made it possible to begin interacting with the Spanish speaking world in a meaningful way within just a few short weeks of the start of my studies. In what seemed like no time at all I was conversing, ordering meals, checking into hotels, getting deeper information from tour guides and meeting new friends who didn’t speak English. The ability to ask directions, explore the area where the tours don’t go and more was just additional fuel on my burning desire to continue learning.

Several years have passed since that time. I am now reaching fluency in Spanish and feel comfortable having detailed discussions on a variety of topics. Yet I still email César frequently with questions or to clarify something that isn’t immediately clear to me. When I meet people who are interested in learning Spanish I recommend César without reservation.

I often meet people who have been learning Spanish, some for years, and still are unable to construct a sentence. This is often, in my opinion, a function of the way language is taught. I experienced the same thing with French. I am so thankful that I happened to come across César so early after my decision to learn this beautiful language. It certainly changed the outcome entirely.

If learning Spanish in a way that is both useful and fun is something that interests you, I can’t think of anyone I could recommend more highly to assist you in your choice than César. He’s someone you want in your corner for sure!!

Great approach to training, enthusiastic and that makes learning so much better

Hola,

Cesar has a great style for learning to occur. We spent time discussing why I was interested in learning Spanish and what I hoped to do with it. He concentrates on building a base and although my work takes me away from my lessons, (sometimes for weeks) that base is solid because of the structured lessons. Each lesson builds on the previous lesson and this assists the learner in expanding their comprehension as well as their speaking abilities in Spanish.

Cesar, also makes the lessons enjoyable and fun, conversations in Spanish are relevant to my work and why I am taking lessons.
I have had the opportunity to put my lessons to use in my work life and I am glad that I have taken lessons. I will continue to do so with Cesar.

He is accommodating as well, I work varied hours and he is flexible to my schedule. This is critical for someone who wants to learn but cannot be available on a regular schedule.

If you want to learn Spanish and have a solid base and understanding then I would suggest that taking lessons with Cesar.

saludos,
Barb
