Details: To Whom It May Concern: My name is John (Juan) Patrick Keefe II. I am twenty-five years old and have served in the capacity of a professional teacher for several years. I have tutored young orphans in both Colima and Serdan, Mexico. In addition, I have taught advanced English rhetoric and American politics at the tenth through twelfth grade levels at the Kuressaare Gumnaasium in the country of Estonia. I also served there as a lord professor of intermediate rhetoric at the Osilia Estonian Business School. The youngest student I ever taught was five; my oldest scholar was sixty-nine. Recently I have taught world geography, debate, world history, and special education—though not all at the same time—at the secondary level. As much as I enjoy what I do, I wish to teach at the elementary level, as I believe that I can fully utilize my talents to help others better at this level even better than I am now. Besides, it was only when I began substituting many years ago that I fully realized just how much I like teaching the younger age groups. Up until this time I just have not made the move, but now I feel it is time! Having worked extensively with students at the high school level, I know how frustrating they can often find it when many of them do not even have the basic academic skills necessary to succeed in school. El Paso has the highest illiteracy rate in the entire United States, and that is why I tend to place such an important focus on reading. If students are not able to read, how can they ever have a genuine chance of success? Of course, as you well know, other components are also important when helping our world’s children learn, evolve, and grow.
