Hello, my name is Richard. I would like to learn Mandarin for several reasons. Career advancement is one reason but more importantly Atlanta has become an asian melting pot and many Chinese are failing to learn proper English. Also my grandkids are being urged to learn another language. The common thought nowdays is to learn Chinese. It would be helpful if I could learn at the same time as my grandchildren .
I would be a beginner. I am 56 and probably would not learn as fast as someone younger but I am very intelligent and a hard worker. I am available every day before 3:00 pm. I would prefer an older teacher either 1 to 1 or in a small class. I would also prefer a female teacher as they are usually more patient. I would accept any age or gender.

I started taking classes in college in 1980. Later on I concentrated on Spanish and I neglected French. I have very good understanding of the language but I need to get it to an expert level as it has been a dream of mine. I travel abroad extensively so I will need some flexibility.
I speak Greek, English and Spanish fluently.

I travel to the Ukraine about 3 times a year and would love to visit Russia as well. My Great grandfather immigrated from Russia and the last relative in our family that spoke Russian was my grandfather. I am very interested in learning conversationa l Russian.
