Dear potential teacher,
F irst I would like to introduce myself. My name is Joshua and I am currently a senior in high school. Although I am a very different senior though. This year I am spending my year abroad as a Rotary Youth Exchange student in Chanthaburi, Thailand. I have already learned to speak Thai at an ok level. I am not a beginner but I have a lot more to learn. I am very interested in learning Thai language because I have started to learn it and now I want to be fluent in Thai language. I want to become fluent in this language for possible career advancements come day. I am going to study fashion design in the Chicago area in late fall 2009 or spring of 2010 I'm not sure which one yet though. I feel I need improvement in my sentence structure. That always confuses me in Thai and the tones too! The tones are really difficult. I don't understand àÊ×Í from the others. At this point I don't know how much time I want to dedicate to it hopefully as much as I can but it's still far off. My basic motivation though to become fluent completely in Thai is to go back to Thailand in five years and be able to really understand everythign about my host families and their lives. I don't feel a year living here will be enough for me. I also just want a teacher that is patient with me more than anything. I just want to learn Thai really bad!
