I recently tested at level 3 on the DLI scale in speaking, reading and understanding both Egytpian and Modern Standard Arabic. I wish to continue studying Arabic during my professional career first because of my love for the language and second for professional/ academic reasons. I intend to pursue a higher degree in Arabic or Middle Eastern Studies and I want to improve my Arabic between now and when I restart my studies, as opposed to losing my facility with the language by virtue of non-use. I would like to arrange one two- or three-hour 1-to-1 session per week, preferrably on a week night, beginning as soon as possible and lasting into the forseeable future.
I am looking for a tutor with professional teaching experience who is comfortable working one-on-one with an advanced student who wishes to explore diverse subjects with the aim of building vocabulary and fluency, as well as reading in a range of topics.
