I am still a beginning student in Japanese, just finishing out the 102 level at ASU. I am learning the language for the requirement to graduate at ASU, but more importantly for my own self-improvem ent.
I require improvement in my grammar comprehension , and in my kanji composition. (It is not that my penmanship is bad, but I often get confused with the order of strokes.)
I am willing to put forth any amount of effort required -- I will study independently up to 10 hours a week if I find a teacher that can push me and motivate me to do so. The amount of hours a week I can spend with the instructor is negotiable depending on the price -- but I am willing to meet up to 4 times a week if the price is manageable.
Of course, I am looking for high-quality instruction and a patient teacher who knows how to motivate and give constructive criticism. I can move as quickly as I am pushed, and will rise to the challenges that are presented to me.

I am considering relocating to Bangkok, Thailand, and would like to learn to speak, read, and write in Thai. I have many friends that live in Thailand and I visit there regularly. I want to get exposure to the Thai language, but have difficulty learning from cassettes or cd's. Ideally, I would like to have someone that can teach me in person, but I may have to take lessons over the internet.
