I've been learning Spanish for two years in the United States. I want to improve my Spanish as quickly as I can because I want to take a year abroad in Spain as my college junior year. I also live in many different places so Xian is not my fixed location.
I think my Spanish is a beginner-inte rmediate level. My pronunciation is not so good. I'm a quick learner at grammer and vocabulary but my listening and writing skills are relatively poor. I don't have a specific time schedule for lessons and It depends on how it will work out since it's the summer! I want GOOD QUALITIES!!

I am learning Mandarin so I will be able to communicate with my girl friend and her family more easily. I am a musical composer/prod ucer and plan to expand into the Asian market, so speaking mandarin would be a large advantage in doing this. I am focused on developing communication skills and aurally understanding more and more.
I am very much a beginner and would like to start from the very beginning. I have been to Taiwan before and have studied Mandarin off an on, however I have never had anything formal or regular enough to retain much of the information. It is for this reason that I feel four, 1 hour lessons a week would be perfect during my stay in Taiwan this summer (June 10th - August 14th). I will let my teacher know my available times that we can work with once we get closer to June.
I would like to focus on speaking and understanding the language, more aural than written.
In my lesson teacher I am looking for someone who is willing to start from the beginning, take it slow, and work with me in a personal way in order to bring out the best of my language skills.

I have become quite interested in the Middle East and want to learn the language. I have taken most of the Pimsleur conversationa l beginner lessons, and I particularly wanted to learn either the Maghreb dialect spoken in Libya or the Egyptian dialect, and to focus on learninng to read and write Arabic.
I am pretty open and flexible and could come to Charlotte on Sat's for lessons or could handle a combination of in-person and skype instruction.
I am a literature teacher myself, so I guess someone who will challenge me and be as passionate about teaching as I am about learning.
I would also need to see about cost.

I would like to learn Japanese for many reasons. After I go to college I plan on going to Japan and perhaps living there. The career I would like when I'm older is to be an animator, and I would love to have an animation career in Japan. Also with learning Japanese I have more opportunities to get careers all over the world.
I am a beginner, and would dedicate 3-4 hours a week in learning this language. I would like a teacher that is patient and calm and willing to teach me.
