I have taken French lessons since high school and never learned to speak it. I think I am a bit past the beginning level in terms of reading comprehension , but not in speaking or understanding . I hope to achieve fluency, but will settle for being able to have everyday basic conversations in French. I would like to focus on speaking more than reading and writing. I think that the later are easier to learn on Ones'own and naturally follow speaking (at least for me).
I am learning the language to help me be more competitive career wise. I have an MPH in International Health and would like to be able to use that degree some day (I currently work with the Air Force Institutive for Operational Health). I hope to improve my conversationa l ability greatly over the next 3-4 months and would therefore have to (and be willing to) devote 10 or more hours of study a week. I couldn't afford that much face time with a teaching, but would like to meet twice a week, if possible.
I hope to find a teacher who can help the most challenged language students learn.

My freind and I would like to learn Swahili. Although I lived in Kenya for a while, my Swahili is terrible and his is non-existent.
I want to learn both grammar and conversation. I like one or two days a week.
I'd like someone nice who speaks the language fluently, they don't have to be a qualified teacher.
I'd also like it to be a class if possible. If there is a teacher but no class, I could post a listing on Craigslist for others who would like to do this too.

Beginner
I would like to learn Japanese for business school. I have already received five years of German from high school and college instruction and some French from college.
I lead a busy schedule at this time but I always believe there is more that can be done. I know I could put in atleast three hours per week.
I would like my instructor to be patient and my lessons to be an immersion in the language; I feel that I learn quickest when I am immersed with the language.
