I am a student of turish. I have been self taught for 3 years now but feel that I need more real instruction. I need help with grammar and conversation. My husband is turkish but lacks the patience to teach me. I want to learn to be able to talk with his family. Now, when I visit his family we must depend on my husband for translation or we use the english/turki sh dictionary constantly which is not as fluid as real conversation.

I'm a beginner in learning (Mandarin) Chinese.
I wish to learn Mandarin because I'm interested in knowing more about today's China, but also about its long history and civilization. I also wish to visit China one day and to be able to comunicate (at least on a basic level) with its people.
I'd like to dedicate at least 2 hours a week to my language lessons.
My principal goal is to acquire a certain ability of understanding and speaking Mandarin. I'd also like to learn writing Chinese, but I don't know if I'll have the patience and capacity to achieve that.

I studied Russian for two semesters in college at the University of South Carolina in Columbia, S.C. and then spent 3 months living in Moscow with a Russian family learning there as well. I have not been using much Russian lately but have superb accentuation. I just need a tutor 2-3 times per week to force me to develop my dialogue. I'd prefer a native Russian, preferable from either Moscow or St. Petersburg. Will be interviewing for the Foreign Servce in several months and need to bone up before then. thx
