Feburary 3rd
This is the day people scatter parched beans to drive out bad luck from demon in Japan. I think this culture was brought from China.
People eat these beans as many as your ages, and eat sushi. But this suchi should not be cut, but you should eat long rolled suchi.
it's fun!Why don't you try it?

Re:Feburary 3rd
I love this tradition. Isn't this the day when people go to the temple and yell "oni wa soto, fuku wa uchi"? (I think it means "Demons outside, good luck inside" yes?) This is a lot of fun. But, I don't understand what the oranges are for. Do you know?

HI, Emi. Scatter parched beans ? As a native Chinese, i don't think the custom coming from China. But it sounds very interesting all the same :) Richard
