I am American and my husband is Bengali, so I want to learn Bengali to better communicate with his extended family, and in case we move back to Calcutta.
I visit Calcutta annually, and while I would mostly like to learn via Skype, if my instructor is based in Calcutta- we could meet for a few hours during my next visit in February 2010. If there is an instructor in the US, we could do in person and via Skype.
I am a beginner, and interested to reach an intermediate level for casual conversation about family and current affairs. (I am not interested in learning to read) I can dedicate a few hours each week to lessons, but would also like to have 'homework' I can practice with, supplemented with Bengali movies and conversation with my family.

I would like to improve my fluency in German. I studied it at the University level and have spent time in Germany as a student and intern, but have had no formal classes since I graduated in 2008. I would say my level is around intermediate. I need the most improvement on speaking and writing, while my reading is pretty solid. I am currently a law student, so my free time is limited, but I am looking for about 1 or 2 hours per week of lessons.

My children are currently learning Mandarin and would like to expand into another dialect. I would like to meet with the teacher to properly assess their needs.
