I took some standard arabic classes in college but I would still call myself a beginner. I learn fastest in conversation and live context. My main issue is grammar.I'm trying to find someone to teach me in the Lebanses dialect but can't seem to find anyone willing. I'd like to dedicate 1 or 2 days a week for 1-1 1/2 hours. A native speaker would be preffered willing to move towards full emersion as soon as possible.

Beginner +. I know the Arabic alphabet and can read Arabic, though very slowly at this time. I have learned many words and can form some sentences, mostly having to do with introductions , directions, common questions, etc. I used Pimsleur's to learn to speak Egyptian Arabic first and began working with the Al Kitaab series to learn the alphabet and word structure. People I have spoken with in Egypt tell me I seem to have the sounds of the Arabic alphabet correct and should not have any problems expanding my knowledge of the language.
I am learning Arabic to be able to communicate well with people in Egypt when I go there twice a year. I give speeches and work with orphanages so it would be nice to be able to communicate directly instead of needing a translator.
I can spend about an hour each day working on the language lessons. I need the accountabilit y of a class I physically attend to stay on track. With online courses it is too easy to put it aside and forget about it.
I would like a teacher who enjoys the language as well as teaching. I prefer a class structure that does most of the leg work outside of the class so class time is mostly spent practicing verbally and answering questions I may have about the lessons.
