Hi-
I will be moving to Stockholm, Sweden in 2014. I completed a beginners course in Swedish in the Spring but I still consider myself very much a beginner. I am mostly looking for help with speaking the language but also reading and writing. I would like to meet once or twice a week and my schedule is pretty flexible.

I am a health professional that has a great deal of patients from Africa that speak Somali. I want to be able to ask them a variety of questions regarding their pain, where they were hurt and various other questions regarding their current and past health concerns.
I am uncertain of the time needed to ascertain my competency without really hearing from a tutor how long my goals would take to reach. I do know that I would prefer they have the ability to speak English well and can translate what it is I need to say in Somali and back to English to have a manageable and productive conversation. Slang words may be helpful.

I want to learn Dutch because of an academic interest in the Netherlands and Dutch history.
I am a beginner. I haave finished one CD course and am working with Babbel.
My CD course was very much along conversation and I learned quickly that way. Grammar study is very dry and tedious for me.
I can give 1 hour per week and more as I progress. I like to start little and build big.
I would like a teacher that starts with the simple and builds slowly to the more complex. I also need a teacher that can explain the 'whys' of the conversationa l Dutch. For example, why are so many Dutch words spelled with a final 'n' that is almost never pronounced? Also when does one know to use we or wij?
